Beta Mu Chapter History
In April 20,1940, the Beta Mu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered at LeMoyne-Owen College.
John "Pop" Whitaker founded the Beta Mu Chapter, he was also a music instructor at LeMoyne-Owen College.
The history of Beta Mu is filled with over 80 years of diversity. This chapter has initiated men from every walk of life and bound them together with a bond that most cannot comprehend.
Beta Mu's campus leadership ranges from past Student Government Association Presidents and Vice-Presidents, Senators, Pre-Alumni Council presidents and members, Resident Assistants to LOC students.Â
Beta Mu's professional acheivements include physicians, attorneys, judges, politicians, businessmen, engineers, computer professionals, entertainers, educators, law enforcement officers, and those working within the realms of government and public service.
